Take good notes in class, and think about the concepts enough, and you may find that you don’t need the book to do most of the problems. Didn’t use it much except for homework problems. Design is emphasized throughout, and switching algebra is developed as a tool for analyzing and implementing digital systems. I got this book to b.marcoovitz before my introduction to logic class as undergrad Computer Eng student.

Although the book does cover a lot of content in detail, the wording and organization of the book is very poor. The text integrates laboratory experiences, bothhardware and computer simulation, while not making them mandatory for following the main flow of the chapters.

Review problems are at the end of every chapter, but have no references in the book that can be used to look up page numbers. Since I bought the book purely for a class, I found that the book seems to be written more for independent study, as jumping around in the book is harder than simply reading it through.
